Ive been looking through the emails I have saved and I found some funny quotes collected by Katie. They are pretty much from band people on the bus or at some band function. All from the band blast....
"Its gonna take me time to get over it...ok, I'm good"
"In 'That's Amore,' don't they mention something about gay tarantulas?"
"Duh, bees pollinate with their feet, didn't they teach you that in church?"
"So I'm matching the color of my font with my cookie...I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM!"
"What would you do if I just punched your head into the wall right now?"
"I CAN'T CLAP BY MYSELF!"
"Darn ducks, all they do is crap all over our beaches"
"I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box, I mean the brightest, no sharpest. Ya know, whatever! I'm not even in the box!!"
"*insane laughter* Guess what? Vijay used to call this song 'Tear the roof off the sucker'!*more laughter*"
"Why is the band a swirling vortex of doom?"
"Never play hide-n-go seek with a chicken in a corn field"
""*sings*'Thy name is liberty--'Hey! That's my name too!"
"Oh my gosh! In my dream last night there was flying candy and now its really happening!"
(at a parade)
"Oh good, she's not wearing her fork!"
"You know what would be really cool? If you only had one arm...then it'd be, like, really strong"
Thank you Lord God for this day, for this moment, for this second. Please help me to use it for Your Glory and not my own.

A cool email
Two things Navy Seals are always taught:1). Keep your priorities in order2). Know when to act without hesitation.
A college professor, an avowed atheist and active in the A.C.L.U. was teaching his class. He shocked several of his students when he flatly stated that once and for all he was going to prove that there was no God. Addressing the ceiling he shouted: "GOD, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes!!!!!"
The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by. "I'm waiting God, if you're real, knock me off this platform!!!!"
Again after 4 minutes, the professor taunted God saying, "Here I am, God!!! I'm still waiting!!!"
His count down got down to the last couple of minutes when a Navy Seal, who was just released from the Navy after serving in Afghanistan and Iraq and newly registered in the class, walked up to the Professor. The Seal hit him full force in the face! This sent the Professor tumbling from his lofty platform. The Professor was out cold. The students were stunned and shocked. They began to babble in confusion.
The Seal nonchalantly took his seat in the front row and sat in silence. The class looked at him and fell silent also.....Waiting.
Eventually, the professor came to and was noticeably shaken. He looked at the Seal in the front row. When the professor regained his senses and could speak he asked, "What the heck is the matter with you?! Why did you do that?"
"God was really busy protecting America's soldiers, who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like a fool. So he sent me."

The passing of a great mind...
Yes, for those readers (if I have any) who havent heard, Scout passed away on Thursday around nine in the morning. He was a great dog. What made hime so wonderful was that he almost had the personality of a human, it seemed like he really understood what everyone was thinking and knew exactly what to do to cheer you up, then again, he also knew which buttons to push. I thank God for letting Scout live with us for so long. Hopefully we made his life as happy as he made ours. I love you little snow bunnie!

This school is killing me.
You know, I really hate it when people flip out on you in front of a class and then in the end, what you did wasnt that big of a deal. People accidently leave computers signed on their names all of the time, its not a big deal. Usually, I just sign them off and sign on my name cuz I dont like being in other peoples stuff. So I wemt on a computer and signed off the person thenstarted to get on my name, then the teacher flipped out. I had no idea why at the time, I thought that I had really messed up the computer some how but in the end, she just wanted to look at pictures under that persons name. That makes me really mad cuz she flipped out on me andmade me all upset and all she has to do is sign back on the persons name. grr. she actually had me interrupt another class to tell the person she needed them to sign back on, when she could have just seen her later. people are stupid. and if somehow that person reads this i really dont care. you acted like a jerk.

Jaws attack! Ahh!
I really dont know what that titles about. Yes Ive been dead for the best three days and Im still dead but back in school dead which may be worse. I shall quote Jon Steward when he was sick on his show, "my head is swimming in fluids." We just took pictures which is always fun when you dont care how you look because youre using all of you energy just to get air into you lungs. Well, thats gonna look terrible, plus Ive got more pics for drama......sigh. Why wont the little people just leave the celebs alone? lol. Lunch time...till then till then.

Brilliant brother of mine!

Thy name is Chaz D
Just got back from the schools open house. It was basically a chance for the kids in 7/8th grade or home school and their parents to come in and meet the faculty and organizations. Me and Chris were in charge of the band table. We really didn’t do much, just kind of sat there and talked. At the beginning we just watched the slide show that was playing at our table. People showed up but no one really wanted to talk to the different clubs; they just walked around and ate cookies. It’s really sad that every ten years the school gets smaller by 30% or something close to that.
While we were there we heard about the father of one of my classmates getting killed at work in the mill. Life is crazy but its all for a purpose. Please pray for the family and friends and the repose of his soul. Actually, please pray for the entire school because in the past few months we have been losing people that are very close to the school and you can tell the student body and staff are really hurting. Everything’s been kind of depressing...and besides all of the stuff at school, Scout isn’t doing very well either, poor little puppy.... hopefully ill post again soon.

Grace
=to raise humans above animal limitations. That's what my teacher said anyway. She's a cool person, actually shes one of my favorite teachers. She says a lot of really cool things that I like to quote..like, when she says, "God gave you 2 ears and one mouth, which means that you should be listening twice as much as you talk or talking half as much as you listen...DONT MESS WITH THE DESIGN!" I put that in the band blast once...people seemed to like it, well, Im pretty sure Chris read it anyway, lol.
Here's a good song that was recently on mikes blog but since my blog is pink its prob better.
Greetings, this is our most serious song ...
(slowly)Rock stars need money
We can't live on bologna
Rock stars need money
And it comes from you
(lil faster)Rock stars need money
We can't live on bologna sandwiches
(spoken:)We could try
But we'd really rather not, you know
(even faster)Rock stars need money
We can't live on bologna sandwiches
Rock stars need money
And it comes from you, and you, and you, and you, and you
Rock stars need money
We can't live on bologna sandwiches
We could try
But we'd really rather not, you know
And here's how you can help
Oooh, buy our album
Oooh, or a t-shirt
A sticker, a poster, whatever
Just help us get through the week
Cause rock stars need money
We can't live on bologna sandwiches
Rock stars need money
And it comes from you, and you, and you, and you, and you
And everyone in your family!

A real dearth of comments
That's what we have here! The seahawks coach looks like my dad...creepy.
Is it better not to look back or should we dust off our journals
Stare deep through the feedback for the new day
Like the distortion has things to sayIs it better to ignore it,
that these bomb shelters are built of sandScoring themes from our views,
making movies of tragic news
Does this helpless picnic have its own Neverland
ChorusAmerica never hurts
They say America never cries
Like no one's lost in America
No one's lost in America
Listening to pink noise,
we make mirrors out of shop windows
No one dares to pull the red card,
conscience is scared by truths we'd discard
And now we've Arilius,
but soon comes Decious,
and perhaps Constantine is a devilKeen on making things easy
ChorusCome alive, come alive
The prophet's cello's silenced,
if love burns us down to violence
If the whims of the nations cater elation will we not need a soul to blame?
He has to take it all alone
Is His move political, a play for the people?
NoHe takes one for the little guyHe takes a hit for the little guy
They say America never hurtsThey say America never cries,Like no one's lonely in AmericaLike no one's lonely in America

Blast from the past!
Da-Da-Da-Da-Ta-Da - Charge!
We're from the town with that great football team,
We cheer the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Chuck Noll and all his friends are all on the field.
Go out and get them Steelers.
Bradshaw, and Rocky, and Franco and Lynn,
We love you Pittsburgh Steelers.
It's been many years in coming,
just keep that Steelers machinery humming
Defense, Defense, make them scramble, intercept that ball.
Defense, Defense, keeps the Steelers always best of all!
Mean Joe, Mean Joe, do your thing against the other team,
You start from year to year, we're so glad you play here,
Now join with me, and sing the Steelers cheer-er-ER!
We're from the town with that great football team,
We cheer the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Winning's a habit, not only a dream,
Go out and get them Steelers!
Gerela's Gorrilas are here for the show,
and so is Franco's Army,
It's been many years in coming,
just keep that Steelers machinery humming.
Offense, Offense, take that football whole way up the field!
Offense, Offense, let's score and score and never ever yield!
Franco, Franco, can you believe we have a running game?
The Steelers are so great, and so hard to overrate,
Good things, will come, to those who work and wait.
Charge!

What a combination!
I’ve got a mix of Hosanna and Queen in my head, crazy.
You know all of those news stories and articles in the paper about how the kids in the U.S. are getting really bad grades compared to, lets say, kids in Korea...well, I’ve just been thinking about them. I don’t remember what I was watching but they were talking about why many people think this is happening. They said one reason is the fact that instead of just teaching the facts and the things we need to know from the beginning, we are taught that everyone succeeds and everyone can reach their goals if they,
"*shoot for the stars!*" While other kids are being taught the basics of something they can build on throughout their education we are being told that if we set our minds to it everyone wins. When they did that big study a while ago and the Korean kids were in first and the U.S. was last, the kids from the U.S., with their eyes set on their dreams, thought that they came in first only to be crushed in the end. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t inspire the younger ones. By all means, tell them they can do anything IF THEY SET THEIR MIND TO IT AND STAY THE COURSE. Many kids are led to believing everything will be alright because their teachers told them that they will fly one day but soon they find out that while they were getting their little ribbons saying, "everyone’s a winner," other kids were working hard to go on to better things. It just kills me that in grade school everyone is taught to aim for success but in high school the rugs pulled out from under you and now all of those, "im a winner" ribbons don’t matter anymore. For goodness sakes, give they speeches! Motivate the kids but don’t throw them into the false sense of security that they will be president just cuz they have dreams. As Chris was saying, we really need to improve the whole education thing...wow, this ended up being much longer than I wanted it to be. I guess my point is to teach the kids to dream big, but in order for anything to happen they’ve got to work above their limits.
"I gotta be cool relax, get hip
Get on my track's
Take a back seat, hitch-hike
And take a long ride on my motor bike
Until I'm ready (Ready Freddie)
Crazy little thing called love
This thing called love I just can't handle it
this thing called love I must get round to it
I ain't ready
Crazy little thing called love "

Attention please!
Hey!
We just watched the dvd from the fall sports banquet. it was really good! I cant wait till the band banquet, mostly Im excited about the slideshow. Its always really good and makes me want to cry, and this year i probably will. should be great. i also heard that we arent giving out the senior awards at this one but there will be another time to do that...i guess thatll be more practical, but one fun thing about the awards was that you announced them and sometimes it was best not to explain them to the other people there, well, like the parents. anyway, i still cant wait!

The Cricket Game of Life
In Catholic Vocations class we started watching a movie about C.S. Lewis called "the shadow lands." (or something close to that) Its pretty good, a little hard to get through the accents but, still good. Its on Christian marriage. We aren't finished , so I wont explain anything yet.
Today is the first official full-cast practice for the musical. Im really excited about it! The songs are really cute!
Smitty: Well, here it is five pm,The finish of a long day's work;
And there they are, both of them,The secretary and the clerk.
Not very well acquainted;Not very much to say;
But I can hear those two little mindsTickin' away.
Now she's thinking:
Rosemary: I wonder if we take the same bus?
Smitty: And he's thinking:
Finch: There could be quite a thing between us.
Smitty: Now she's thinking:

Smitty: And he's thinking:
Finch: But what of my career?
Smitty: And she says:

All: Well, it's been a long,Been a long, been a long,Been a long day.

Smitty: And he's thinking:
Finch: I guess a little flirting won't hurt.
Smitty: Now she's thinking:

Smitty: And he's thinking:

Smitty: And she says:

Smitty: And he says:
Finch: Gesundheit.Well, it's been a long day.
All: Well, it's been a long,Been a long, been a long,Been a long day.
Smitty: Hey, there's a yummy Friday special at Stouffer's;
It's a dollar ninety vegetable plate
And on the bottom of the ad--not bad--Service for two, three-fifty-eight.
(To make a bargain, make a date.)
Rosemary: Wonderful.
Finch: It's fate.
Smitty: Now she's thinking:
Rosemary: What female kind of trap could I spring?
Smitty: And he's thinking:
Finch: I might as well forget the whole thing.
Smitty: Now, she's thinking:
Rosemary: Suppose I take his arm.
Smitty: And he's thinking:
Finch: Well, really what's the harm?
Smitty: And she says: Rosemary: Hungry?
Smitty: And he says:
Finch: Yeah!
Rosemary: Yeah!
Smitty: Yeah.

In the Glory...
One of my teachers was talking about the mining accident yesterday. She said that they interviewed one of the wives or mothers of a miner that was killed. She said, "You might think we're all dumb here but we love our families/each other." When people act like snobs because they think they are "more advanced," than you, just laugh it off. Obviously they've got some issues to work out within themselves. Most of the time, when they act like that it's because either they feel insecure about themselves or they know that youre actually happier in life. In the big scheme of things, when this is all over, class, gender, and race won't matter and, if the people I was talking about want to believe it or not, it wont matter how much you know (learned in school). What will really matter is if you used life for the glory of God, or yourself.
"If thou reliest more upon thine own reason or industry than upon the virtue that subjects to Jesus Christ, thou wilt seldom and hardly become an enlightened man; for God wishes us to be perfectly subject to Himself, and to transcend all reason by inflamed love."
-Thomas a Kempis Of the Imitation of Christ Bk. 1 Ch. 4 v. 13

*First post of the new year!*
Well, Ive been reading Dark night of the Soul by St. John of the Cross. So far it is really good! My brother said that he thought it was good but hard to read. That's true, it is kinda hard to read but you can get the basic points he tries to make. I shall continue to read and report.
To comment on the miners...I'm so sorry. I'm sure there was some communication error or something, but before the annoucement that they were all alive, the guys kept waiting hours before they let any news out of the rescue. They make sure everything was true. They probably just heard something wrong and got excited. Please pray for the families and friends and the one miner that is in critical condition.
God does everything for a reason, don't forget that.

Best movies-pretty much the same as Mike's -batman, harry potter was good

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum, [Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree]
du kannst mir sehr gefallen! [Of all the trees most lovely]
The news had come out in the First World War
The bloody Red Baron was flying once more
The Allied command ignored all of its men
And called on Snoopy to do it again.
Twas the night before Christmas, 40 below
When Snoopy went up in search of his foe
He spied the Red Baron, fiercely they fought
With ice on his wings Snoopy knew he was caught.
Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ring out from the land
Asking peace of all the world
And good will to man
The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sights
He reached for the trigger to pull it up tight
Why he didn't shoot, well, we'll never know
Or was it the bells from the village below.
Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man
The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine
And forced him to land behind the enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the Baron cried out, "Merry Christmas, my friend"
The Baron then offered a holiday toast
And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host
And then with a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they'd meet on some other day.
Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

"I hear the bells!"
Went to see "hairspray" while in New York and whenever someone would fall in love or just realize that they were in love they would say, "i hear the bells!" It was really funny at the time. lol! Maybe sometime soon Ill write about the trip, it just seems like it would take forever. So, Ive been listening to The Killer alot cuz my bro came home with bunches of new music. I really like The Killers, some of their songs are alittle different but theyre cool. They mix things very well!
All These Things That I've Done
When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I wanna stand up, I wanna let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't
I wanna shine on in the hearts of men
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand
Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no
Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The cold-hearted boy I used to be
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier

I never thought it would come to this...
Now I understand what my clone was talking about. Last year during these practices she would always say stuff about how she was so sick of this and wanted to just go home. Now I'm feeling the same way. I kinda feel bad saying that b/c I know there are people that want to go into music when they get out of the dark hole known as highschool such as Chris and Joe and that's great for them! I really am happy! Nothing would make me happier than to see them going on to bigger and better bands, arranging their own music, or becoming band directors. That would be great, but to tell you the truth, after Im done with this the only time Ill pick up an instrument is for alumni band and maybe if I play at Christmas or something. I hate to say all of this because I remember Chris actually saying something about how he couldnt wait to go into music b/c the people will actually want to be at the practices and that's true! Many people say that band is all about the music but I dont agree with that. Band for me is all about the people and the moments, cuz when I look back at it Im not going to remember, "oh, that's the year that I played singing in the rain in a flat," no, Ill remember the fun times of singing on the bus or trying to act cheerful and play Christmas Carols while its below zero. So, if I ever seem painfully bored during practice or look like Im about to jump out the window to escape, Ill just have to think about all of the good times, and even if I talk about how I hate band now, when the band banquet comes, Ill love again. Just try to ignore the hate, once band is over I should be happy again.

Good advice!
Im doing my term paper and I really like this quote from the book its on...
"When you will not fly into a passion people know you are stronger than they are, because you are strong enough to hold in your rage, and they are not, and they say stupid things they wish they hadn't said afterward. There's nothing so strong as rage, except what makes you hold it in--that's stronger. "
That's why you keep quiet when people are trying to make you mad or things are bugging you, plus, "the meek shall inherit the earth."

Funny stuff...on the bus! (I just remembered)
"Wouldn't is be cool if there was some game where all of the different countries could play and their National Anthems were like...their fight songs?" -Becca
"You mean like, the Olympics Becca?" -me
I don't know, I thought it was funny!lol!

Silence is a pretty shade of yellow...
Well, we have silence in the halls today. For those of you who don't know what that means, just take it literally. For the entire day, no one is allowed to talk outside of a classroom. I think the idea of it is to get everyone so pumped up during the day that everyone goes crazy at the pep rally. I don't know, I guess its ok but some people are really having problems. I'll leave you with a song that show choir gets to sing and the dance in sooo cute, but I cant help thinking of the movie "elf" when they sing it!
I really can't stay (but, baby, it's cold outside).
I've got to go 'way (but, baby, it's cold outside).
This evening has been: (Been hoping that you'd drop in)
so very nice (I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice).
My mother will start to worry: (beautiful words you're humming),
and father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar).
So really I'd better: scurry (beautiful, please don't hurry)……
well, maybe just a half a drink more (put some records on while I pour).
The: neighbors might think (but, baby, it's bad out there)……
say, what's in this drink? (no cabs to be had out there).
I wish I: knew how (your eyes are like starlight now)
to break the spell (I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell).
I ought to say: no, no, no sir (mind if I move in closer?).
At least I'm gonna say that I tried (what's the sense of hurtin' my pride?).
I: really can't stay (Oh, baby, don't hold out).
Ah but it's cold outside (baby, it's cold outside).
I simply must go (but,: baby, it's cold outside).
The answer is no (but, baby, it's cold outside).
The welcome has been (how lucky that you: dropped in)
so nice and warm (look out that window at that storm).
My sister will be suspicious (Gosh, your lips look: delicious),
my brother will be there at the door (waves upon a tropical shore).
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious: (gosh, your lips are delicious).
Well, maybe just a cigarette more (never such a blizzard before).
I got to get home (but,: baby, you'd freeze out there).
Say, lend me a coat (it's up to your knees out there).
You've really been grand (I'm: thrilled when you touch my hand).
Why don't you see (how can you do this thing to me?).
There's bound to be talk: tomorrow (think of my lifelong sorrow),
at least there will be plenty implied (if you caught pneumonia and died).
I: really can't stay (get over that hold-out).
Ah, but it's cold outside (ah, but it's cold outside)……
Where could you be: going, when the wind is blowing, and it's cold outside?
Baby it's cold, cold outside.

Lack of Comments
There has been a serious lack of comments on all of my favorite blogs and I want to know why? Where are you guys? Christmas shopping or something, get them a tie they'll love it. Anyway, I just remembered a story that a priest had in his homily last Christmas and I wanted to share it with you! (I'm sooo nice!)
So, there was an old man that lived pretty far away from the rest of his family. Every year when Christmas came around he would have to leave his house for a full day of shopping and then he would have to deal with shipping the presents he bought for his far away relatives. One year he decided it was too much trouble so he thought he would send them money. He got his big stack of checks and started signing all of the Christmas cards and on each he would write the cheerful note of "go buy your own presents" since he never knew what to get them anyway. He took the cards and sent them to the houses of his relatives. A few weeks passed and he had gotten no "thank yous" or any response for that matter. He was very troubled.
A few weeks later he was cleaning off his desk and found a stack of checks which he forgot to send. Then he realized that all he gave his relatives were cards that said, "go buy your own presents!"
lol! I thought it was funny!

Is this clock right?
I never know if the clocks in this school are right! Even the computer clocks are off!
Well, whatever the time is, it's almost time for Thanksgiving break! Just a little more time in school and then JCDA stuff then I get to go home! Besides cleaning the house and the stress of people coming over, I like thanksgiving. I had study hall yesterday and right b4 the bell rang the coach said, "I know alot of you think that you have nothing to be thankful for but remember, you have 2, 2, 2, and 2," as he pointed around the room. What he meant was that we should be thankful that we have 2 ears, 2eyes, 2 arms, and 2, legs. If for nothing else , we should be thankful for that. Even though I have to clean my house, I should still be thankful for my family that Im cleaning for. Thank God for every blessing that you have! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Why is this sooo funny?
I dont know why I remember this so well but I was watching tv, ok, I was flipping through really, but anway, I came across a cartoon that I had seen b4 so I started to watch. (In the show, the main kid can fly)
This is what I heard:
"Oh, I laugh at gravity all the time! Gravity...hahaha!"
I
ve also noticed that Full House is actually pretty funny. In an episode I just saw it's Danny's b-day and Jess decides to get seat covers for Danny' car. On the way back from the store, Jess wrecks Danny's car and he(Danny) is in shock. The next day, Danny is reading a book to Michelle. What he says is really funny!
(in an excited tone)
"oh look! it's mr. dog! what sound does mr. dog make?" -D
"woof"-M
turns the page*
"oh look! it's mr. pig! what sound does mr. pig make?"-D
"oink"-M
turns the page and stares*
"oh look....its mr car.....what sound does mr car make?" -D
*silence
"that right...mr car doesnt make any sound because he's dead..."

J.C., G.W., and M.G. are best buddies!
So, parade practice wasn't as bad as I thought it was. When I did the last post on it I was having a pretty good day, then I went to lunch and after lunch my day kept getting worse. Maybe it was b/c I knew that I had to do about 40 more notecards when I got home or maybe it was the fact that I still needed it finish my weaving, single-thread-knot thing, and the back/blanket stitches. With all of that stuff to do and annoying people in my class, let's just say, I had a bad day. I really wasn't looking forward to practice b/c I knew we would be parade marching and Ive already expressed my fear of that. We started out on the field to do the halftime show for this week and ITS NOT THE COLLEGE SHOW, then we walked up to the back parking lot to play through the parade music. Well, the first song was good and the second song was....terrible and we were standing still. After that we lined up and began to march out of the back parking lot. This was what I really wasnt looking forward to! The wind was blowing, it was really cold, and there were potholes everywhere! After such a bad day, I was sure it was about to get worse but actually, it got better. I feel bad for saying this but we sounded terrible! The wind was blowing our music around so much that none of us could to it to even attempt to play. To tell you the truth, it made me feel a little better. I wish I couldve seen what we looked like from a window! It must have been hilarious! I guess what my long, rambling story is supposed to do is to remind me that I shouldnt worry so much about everything and just laugh it off, and if that doesnt work, Chris will probably offer you a lollipop.

Sooo....
Weve got practice today. Itll prob be the college show this week....joy. Besides halftime, we also have a parade coming and so thatll be worked on too. I hate parades. I never used to mind them but lately.....yeah, I just hate them. I know that the ones we have this year are basically short but theyre still parades. Mostly what I worry about is the shifting. I never used to but since the shifting incident of the dean martin parade Ive never been the same. I have no confidence whatsoever when it comes to parades now. I never used to have any problems going around turns but now that I think about them too much Im afraid Im messing up and I mess up even more when I know that people are watching to see if I mess up and I can tell when people are watching alot of the time, even when Im not looking at them. Now I know Chris probably thinks ths post is all about him but its not, I mean he does freak me out when it comes to shifting but there are others. I should get over it. Just two more parades and I'm done, right?

Something has changed within me...
...something is not the same.
I have noticed alot of beautiful things in the world around me lately. The rainbow on Sunday, the awesome moon and stars, it's wonderful. I like what Matt put in in blog on his last post about the stars, go read it!
Anyway, I don't know if I'm actually "growing up" or if I'm just tired but I'm really starting to laugh at some of the ideas Ive had for soo long. I'm not going to get into those ideas too much but now that I think about what Ive been so concerned about in my life, which isnt going to matter in the end, I really start to laugh. I wish I would shut up long enough to let God talk to me instead of going on about what I'm thinking about. Maybe I'm just scared of what Ill hear.
"Am I at the point of no improvement?
What of the death I still dwell in?
I try to excel, but I feel no movement.
Can I be free of this unreleasable sin?
[Chorus:]
Never underestimate my Jesus.
You're telling me that there's no hope.
I'm telling you your wrong.
Never underestimate my Jesus
When the world around you crumbles
He will be strong, He will be strong
I throw up my hands
"Oh, the impossibilities"
Frustrated and tired
Where do I go from here?
Now I'm searching for the confidence I've lost so willingly
Overcoming these obstacles is overcoming my fear
[Chorus]
I think I can't, I think I can't
But I think you can, I think you can
I think I can't, I think I can't
But I think you can, I think you can
Gather my insufficiencies and
place them in your hands, place them in your hands, place them in your hands"

It's wonderful and sssssuper!
That's right! I found my long lost Relient K cd! Yay!
Relient K - Maintain Consciousness
Relient K - Maintain Consciousness
Our concentration it contains a deadly flaw
our conversations change from words to blah, blah blah
we took prescription drugs but look how much good that did
well I think I had a point, but I just got distracted
Lately it just seems to me
like we've got the letters A.D.D.
branded into our mentality
we simply can't focus on anything
because its
17, 18, 19 routine
and here at 23 it's the same old me
and that one thing of the moment
that we all happen to like will
only very temporarily
kinda break the cycle
of the double edged sword
of being lazy and being bored
we just want more and more and more
till it's all we can afford
to keep our eyes open for just one more day
to keep on hoping that we'll stumble on a way
to keep our minds open for just one more day
cause its completely up to us
to maintain consciousness
well no one can possibly listen to this
more than 4 reps is just monotonous
we're losing interest, losing interest, losing interest
our conversations change from words to blah, blah blah
we took prescription drugs but look how much good that did

Heloise is my hero!
So, I love road trips! They always seem to put me in a better mood. Usually I talk to people or stare out the window, but my favorite thing to do is listen to my cds and just kinda zone out. If anyone has seen my listening while staring out the window or singing along, they know that I'm in my own little world. I use that time to think about drills or music but most of the time I think about life in general. Now I know some of you will say, "what's to think about? it's 42!" (If you don't get it just ask) The best way to zone out on a road trip is listening to music while facing the back of the bus. I like to stare out the little window on the emergency exit door. And for more tips on this please contact my dog Scout.

At lunch, we were all sitting at the band table and, as always, annoying non-band people took over half the table. I didn't know who they were but I was told by people in their class that they were all "preppy" (I never use that word!) They were all talking and people we knew started going over there. We kept trying to warn them to stay away from the "bad side of the table" but they wouldn't listen.
"No! Katie! Don't jump that bridge! You'll never come back"

Mountain Dew!
It is the best pop out there and, as I said, you can't put it on a poll cuz you cant compare it to anything else. Since The Cow, Mikey G, and I all chose this, it shall be done!
I need to start drinking less pop.

One short day...
It's kinda funny when you think about movies and musicals today. When we went to see the Wizard of Oz, we just knew that the witch was bad. She was a bad witch and thats about all of that. I know there are books but when they made the musical, "wicked" its a little different. Actually its very different. What Im trying to say is, it used to be, "the bad guy is...just bad," we never went into why or what emotional problems the bad guy had or what kind of situation did this person have as a child that caused them to turn out this way. I don't know, I was just thinking about it....hmm. Forget it, I'm just bored.

Mixed thoughts...
Just a note, before I start. This is not in response to your post Chris, it really just sparked these thoughts from me. I'm not yelling at anyone, nor am I mad at anyone...just thinking.
No, I'm not stressed right now, don't know why, I'm just not. I should be, but if I put on a mood ring right now, it would be clear. Things with the senior show are...going, and by the time Thursday rolls around it should all work. It's always does. That's the weird thing with this band; it always seems like there is no way everything is going to work out and we always seem to find a way. The really weird thing about the band is that we always have a really bad practice right b4 the actual performance and everyone thinks that its gonna be terrible but it always clicks...and , if for some reason it doesnt click...whatever. There are more important things in life than "the perfect show." I know every class thinks, "when we get to do our show, we are going to do this so much better and we wont fight or anything," thats what we thought, kinda naive of us, huh? Well, to tell you the truth, most of the seniors are very happy with their show and we cant wait to see it put together. Some of us have been waiting a loooooong time for this weekend, and even if some of our decisions dont always make sense to the younger ones, we are very tired, but excited. I have hope and "though hope is frail, its hard to kill." Again, please, don't think Im yelling at anyone, if only you guys could see how calm I am as I type this...Im not mad, and I hope no one is mad at me. I wasnt trying to attack anyone for their comments, I just wanted to type what was going on in my head when I read Chris' blog. I really hope you dont think I was mad at you.
"We were talking together
I said, "what's up with this weather?"
Dont know whether or not
How sad I just got
'Cause on my own volition.
What if I'm just missing the sun
And tomorrow, I know,
Will be rainy at best.
And the forecast, I know,
Is that I'll be depressed.
But I'll wait outside
Hopin that I'll catch sight of the sun.
[Chorus:]
Because on and off,
The clouds have fought
Their controll over the sky
And lately the weather
Has been so Bi-polar
And Consequently so have I"

New Post
I havent updated in a while, neither have Chris, Matthew, or Sara. I just thought I'd point that out. Well, it's mid week already! We get to starting drilling our show today, I think. We have the basic idea but we don't have exact positions for everyone. I just hope it all works out without anyone getting frustrated and/or blowing up like the tetris game! (Im not sure if that'll work either) We are going to need another meeting once we set the drill up and everything. Later days!

"If I lived back in the wild west days, instead of carrying a six-gun in my holster, I'd carry a soldering iron. That way, if some smart-aleck cowboy said something like "Hey, look. He's carrying a soldering iron!" and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, "That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice." Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink."

Step by Step
I was reading through the Bible during studyhall and I found this:
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Romans 8:18
I liked this verse because it goes alo0ng with everything thats going on right now. We just had a natural disaster in our country and now the economy is all messed up, well more messed up. I know alot of people are worried about our country and I know alot of people are saying, "how could God allow this to happen?" That was the same question people asked after 9/11. The answer is that God never left us and will never leave us, no matter how many stupid things we do!

Throwing caution to the wind
I love this song! Read through it, you might like it as well. Its by five iron frenzy.
i'm going in (1,2,3 and go)
like a kamikaze (like geronimo)
a leap of faith (and i finally feel alive)
3, 2, 1 i'm going in
i don't know if it's just me but it seems that things aren't changing
every day is pretty much the same with a little rearranging
if i do nothing i can't fail no blistered hands, no broken nails
killing time, i'm paralyzed with faded dreams and hollow eyes
i've been waiting for a revelation for a moment of clarity
conflicts and convolutions ricochet inside of me
there comes a time for throwing caution to the wind
i feel the pulse again
i'm going in (1, 2, 3 say when)
like a flaming arrow (soaring in the wind)
a leap of faith (and i finally feel alive)
3, 2, 1 i'm going in
i am so slow to commit
i have wasted years on fencesis
is really true the shoes don't fit?
is it only my defenses?
what if i don't measure up,don't listen well, don't smile enough?
alone and unknown up 'till now need to change direction somehow
i've been open to persuasion wanting someone to take the lead
it's alittle disconcerting signing up for eternity
there comes a time for throwing caution to the wind
and so my life begins

Boy are people childish! I can't stand it sometimes! Just grow up, that's all I can say. Why can't they see what's right in front of them and do something about it? This little rant prob sounds just a immature as what Im talking about. I'm aloud to have a venting post every once in a while.

I think one of the reasons I hate going back to school is just trying to get back into the swing of it. Once I get back into that school mode Ill be fine. Hmm, I dont have much to type here. Im also gonna miss everyone thats leaving....sigh. I'll leave you with Relient K.
"Sometimes it's embarrassing to talk to You
To hold a conversation with the only One who sees right through
This version of myself I try to hide behind
I'll bury my face because my disgrace will leave me terrified
And sometimes I'm so thankful for Your loyalty
Your love regardless of the mistakes I make will spoil me
My confidence is, in a sense, a gift You've given me
And I'm satisfied to realize You're all I'll ever need
CHORUS:
You looked into my life and never stopped
And You're thinking all my thoughts
Are so simple but so beautiful
And You recite my words right back to me
Before I even speak You let me know
I am understood
And sometimes I spend my time just trying to escape
I work so hard, so desperately,
In an attempt to create space
'Cause I want distance from me and the utmost important thing I know
I see Your love, then turn my back, and beg for You to go
CHORUS
You're the only one who understands, completely
You're the only one who knows me yet still loves (me), completely
And sometimes the place I'm at is at a loss for words
If I think of something worthy, I know that it's already Yours
And through the times I've faded and you've outlined me again
You've just patiently waited, to bring me back and then
CHORUS
The noise has broken my defense
Let me embrace salvation
Your voice has broken my defense
Let me embrace salvation"

That was the moment
Have you ever found yourself watching a show on tv and you keep thinking, " this is so stupid! this person really makes me mad!" but you continue to watch? Well that happened today. I was flipping through and I stopped on MTVs show called Super Sweet 16. Oh my gosh! The girl on there was one of the worst representatives of teens in America! No wonder everyone hates us! She was soooooo bratty! I kept yelling at the tv about how she needed to be slapped! Her Mom acted like this was how she should behave even thoughthey would fight about everything and the little brat would always win but yelling at the mother. The Mom spent soo much money on this girls party and she also bought her a brand new car! As I was watching, I kept thinking, "I should change the channel! They put these people on here so you can't help but watch!" And I couldnt help it! I had to see how expensive this party looked and how she kept throwing little fits because everything wasnt the way she wanted it! Ahhhhh! What is wrong with the world today!? I need a song!
"Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Convincing them to walk you."

Tears from the forehead
The Renaissance Festival was soooooo fun! I think just the fact that the rides were run by pirates made it great. I think the fairies loved us cuz we stayed and talked to them 4 almost an hour! I don't really feel like typing out everything that happened so I'll just type a bunch of things that I remember from the whole experience...
Chocolate chip pancakes, bucket, blue, trumpet guy in the woods, "no haste whatsoever", Jess elected leader, freaky people with masks, mustard seed, sir show and tell, crow’s nest, pirate guys ;), roses, sir tom, sir mo, and sir ash, staggered over here and died...over there, box of mystery, more of the 3 knights, mud show, "oh! Your parents are fancy!” die!, final episode of the knights, big smiley! big winkay! kissy face!

Say something! Don't say that!
Well, work was very...worky today! Only 2 more days of it and Im done! Two more days of creepy physical plant guys, two more days of dorm rooms, and two more days of hiking up that mountain!
In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip.
We took a little bacon an' we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British at the town of New Orleans.
Refrain:
We fired our guns an' the British kept a'comin'.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was awhile ago.
We fired once more an' they begin to runnin'
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
We looked down the river an' we seed the British comin',
There must a'been a hundred of 'em beatin' on the drum.
They stepped so high an' they made their bugles ring,
We stood beside our cotton bales an'didn't say a thing.
Refrain
Ole Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise,
If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eyes.
We held our fire 'til we seed their faces well,
Then we opened up our squirrel guns an' really gave 'em ...well!
Refrain
Yeah, they ran through the briars an' they ran through the brambles
An' they ran through the bushes where the rabbits couldn't go.
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down,
So we grabbed an alligator an' we fought another round.
We filled his head with cannon balls an' powdered his behind,
An' when they touched the powder off, the 'gator lost his mind.
Refrain

Hot as chicken muffins!
Well, my bro and I just went for a bike ride. I love riding bikes, but it is sooo hot today!
I love this song!
"Vindicated"
Hope dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Winding in and winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye
And roped me in
So mesmerizing, so hypnotizing
I am captivated
[Chorus]
I am Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
I swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself
Ok! Love you! Bye Bye! Later days!

Lucky Captain Rabbit King!
Well, it was a good band camp! Most of the bad stuff was from one source but I wont get into that. A few highlights were the circle with the potters, band chick, and all of the guys. No, I’m not talking about random hot guys walking around campus, I’m talking about the awesome band guys that made the bad times alot more tolerable. Of course my roommates added to the fun. How could you go wrong with the room of Mo,Bo, Mitch, and Hitch? Ok, later days! Till then, till then, I am, as I ever was and ever shall be, yours, yours, yours, yours yours!

He just wants some fooood.
So, my computer goes very slow and while I was waiting for the create a post thing to come up I started to watch Scout. I noticed that he was sniffing the smell of chicken in the air and I was very bored so I started singing about him wanting food. Now anyone would say, "my friend, some people sing when they get bored." You would think that wouldnt you random person I would think as I replied, "you just need to shut up or Ill knock you off of your ladder!" But then Id feel bad for yelling at them so Id take them out to taco bell or something and buy them a taco and they would say, "cant I have 2 tacos?" but I would turn around in shock yelling, "how dare you ask for two tacos! So id swing for awhile as the person yelled at me then something else could happen then Id go home and go to sleep and then Id wake up and post on my blog about this whole thing and then Id realize how long the post was and say oh well and then Id be all excited because this was my 51st post. Congrats if you actually read all of that!

Soldiers of Christ
We should always remember that we are in a constant battle against evil and sin and to win we need God. If we stray from God to experience worldly things we will individually lose battles. Even then, we still affect the others who are trying their best to win. Those trying to win will see the earthly things and think that its ok to get drunk all the time or to completely forget their faith. Help your brothers and sisiters in Christ. If we set a good example for the younger ones, they may have an easier time striving to be holy. When I say younger ones, I dont mean those younger than us, I mean those who are just beginning their faith or those that have strayed but have returned to God. And dont think that Im trying to say that Im perfect, Im far from it. I most certainly dont always act as God wants me to. When songs say, "to live your life, youve got to lose it" I think they mean lose what America tells you what your life should be. Dont listen to what the media is telling you, listen to God.
"The murky sea is black
dismal and so deep
millstones rocket through the dark
into it's icy keep
A resting place for broken ships
a cemetery for the humble
no one's here to make you stumble
If Jesus Christ is true
then I am mostly lies
if Jesus Christ is Love
then I have failed to try
if Jesus Christ is Life
then please just let me die
let...this...die..."

Long live FIF!
This is the song Im listening to at this very moment.
"I have been scarred so deep by life and cold despair, and brittle bones were broken far beyond repair. I have leveled lies so deep, the truth may never find. And inside my faithless heart, I stole things never mine.
*If mercy falls upon the broken and the poor, Dear Father, I will see you, there on distant shores.*
I have toiled for countless years and ever felt the cost, and I've been burned by this world's cold, like leaves beneath the frost. On my knees I've crawled to You, bleeding myself dry. But the price of life is more, than I could ever buy. *
And off of the blocks, I was headstrong and proud, at the front of the line for the card-carrying, highbrowed. With both eyes fastened tight, yet unscarred from the fight. Running at full tilt, my sword pulled from its hilt. It's funny how these things can slip away, our frail deeds, the last will wave good-bye. It's funny how the hope will bleed away, the citadels we build and fortify. Good-Bye.
Night came and I broke my stride, I swallowed hard, but never cried. When grace was easy to forget, I'd denounce the hypocrites, casting first stones, killing my own. You would unscale my blind eyes, and I stood battered, but more wise, fighting to accelerate, shaking free from crippling weight. With resilience unsurpassed, I clawed my way to You at last. And on my knees, I wept at Your feet, I finally believed, that You still loved me.
Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make every new day seem so new."

Public enemy number 1
Hmm, Ive got a big bad voodoo daddy song in my head. I need to cut my hair...its getting too long! Well, I dont know, do you guys think I should cut it? Ill let you guys give comments about it , if you do. Right now its at the length where it all goes up in a pony tail but if I just have it down it goes crazy because its hitting my shoulders causing it to curl up and stuff. I need to talk about important things in my blog huh.....hmm.
Pray for peace, for the people in London, and the people in the path of the hurricane!

I have such a desire to knock heads together!
Welly welly welly well! It’s a great day! I did have work today but it wasn’t bad because I had Jess and Becky to keep me from falling asleep. I loved the play last night! The little kids were so cute and of course Michael did a good job, no he did an awesome job!
I’m Aladdin yes I am,
and you know Alakazam,
and I'm
at your service,
at your service,
at your service ma'am!
(I know that’s a completely different play but its been in my head all day!)
Your obedient,
G. Washington

"My friend, you underestimate the power of gerbils."
Have you ever tried to spend some time without using electricity? Its hard! I was so tempted to turn on the tv. Well, we did end up turning it on, but that was after almost half and hour of just talking while using fun candles. Thats when we started talking about fireworks and then about building boats powered by gerbils. Hmm...Happy 3rd of July!
Till then, till then, I am, as I ever was and ever shall be... yours, yours, yours, yours, yours...saltpeter...John, pins...Abigail.

A Salute to Mo the Great
I have noticed that Mo has been commenting on alot of my posts lately and I thought I would thank you...uuhh... THANK YOU MO!
Well, I finished watching all of the signing time videos and I know alot of the basic words in signs. Ive learned alot of signs for food and stuff. Now I need to move on to the connecting words. Well, thats about it. Oh, and today is the day on which the Continental Congress passed the bill that stated that "these United Colonies are, and of right, and ever ought to be, Free and Independent States..." as proposed by Richard H. Lee, from Virginia. If youve seen 1776, you know how cool it is.

Historical Context
I like this background. Its very calming. Do you guys like it? I only had to work till 10 today. It was nice to get out early, but I dont think we should have even had to come to work at all! *Sigh* Im sleepy, but I know if I take a nap, I wont be able to think clearly the rest of the day. If youve never talked me after a nap, you can pretty much understand what its like by looking at the post called Im a little tired...zzz. lalalala!
I wonder how practice for brass is going. I miss you guys. I remember last year when Miss R was talking about trying to make this band all brass, and then some of the brass people were all excited. Not all of them, just some. I know alot of people cant stand woodwinds because alot of what they hear doesnt sound great. Its not right to put the woodwinds down because they dont always sound great. Youve gotta understand, alot of our saxophones are broken beyond repair, and even if they are kinda fixed, things always end up breaking soon after. Im really not mad at anyone, Im just thinking about this stuff.
I just cant stand it when people are like, "Oh! No woodwinds today, we'll actually sound good." I know we do have some poeple who are still learning how to play, but dont say that to the rest of us. We have been working just as long as you guys have and I cant stand it when people question our playing skills. No, saxophone isnt my favorite instrument, but Ive got to play it anyway so people can almost, kinda hear me. And dont yell at the saxohones to try to be as loud as the brass, woodwinds arent built that way.
When we went in to choose what instruments we wanted to play, no one told us that if we picked woodwinds, we wouldnt be loud enough, or that people would constantly remind us that we were out of tune, or that we would be mocked. Thats not right. I mean, I love brass, I really mean it! You guys are great, you sound really good together, but we cant help it if our instruments tend to break more often then yours do. Honestly, if clarinets were loud enough, I would have never switched,I know how to play that instrument, I actually took lessons on it, thats why I love concerts! So, if you ever hear a woodwind having a hard time with a note or something, dont just think, "Oh, its a woodwind, they obviously havent worked hard enough" No, we have worked just as hard as you have to master our instruments, so dont ever look down on us. "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."
Till then...
PS-This rant wasnt sparked by anything that anyone did this year, it was pretty much just built up over time and I just thought I should lay it down.
I really do love the brass, I like to listen to God's music from the trumpets and the angelic tones produced by Jess and Sassy(who I get to practice with) and, of course, low brass, well, what can I say, you guys rock. And we are a part of your section whether you like it or not, cya!
